About Me
Lifelong Dutchess County resident.
I have been quilting for over twenty years.
It began with hand quilting my projects, but once I had a domestic sewing machine that I could lower the feed dogs on, I began free-motion quilting. I still hand-quilted special projects, those that take time. But the need to create and try new techniques created quite a collection of quilt tops. I enjoy making art quilts as well as utility and show quilts.
After making and quilting quite a few bed-sized quilts, I bought a sit-down long arm in 2012. A handiquilter sweet 16.
Oh, how I loved that machine! I had all of the space and no more struggling to handle big quilts at a regular domestic sewing machine. In March of 2015, I upgraded and bought the long arm I use now. An Innova on a quilt frame.
The frame is large enough that I can accommodate king-sized quilts. My home is smoke-free and I do all my work in an 18' x 28’ studio. Pets are in my home but never come into my workspace.
I love free motion, I am happiest when totally hand guided. My work is organic in feel and ever-evolving.
I don’t shy away from trying new techniques and exploring new ideas.
In 2020 I upgraded my machine and offer digital, robotic quilting.
I am happy to discuss your ideas and work on a quilting plan.
Please don’t hesitate to ask me questions about different levels of quilting, and what is involved in my process. So happy to get acquainted and talk quilts!
